Chaos codex trove The Air, Water, and Fire element types can carry the following effects. Combined with the contents of the new Space Marines Codex you will be able to carry the torch for these under represented armies! Pure upside is the best kind of upside. Get the latest business insights from Dun & Bradstreet. Ill have to use my converted tech priest as a Warpsmith I guess. Forge World formed a key part of competitive play in 8th Edition, offering a wide range of additional options for some factions alongside some very cool models for players who wanted to try something different. Kind of everything else. Alright lets start with the cool stuff that only Chaos Space Marines get, instead of the things we share with loyalists. A lot of the profiles have been tidied a little and they benefit greatly from this, as degrading profiles on low wound models like this was often a problem in the previous edition. What about the new thunderhawk rules? Ares Gunship: ARES-GATE continues, with a 20 point increase, and the attack changes from the Orion. If any of them have game its probablyScabeiathrax, who benefits from having a whole bunch of nasty offensive options while being durable for their new cost. Greater Blight Drones are also way better, especially in Death Guard, despite losing the damage on their weapons. Also the Adrathic option is slightly cheaper, so basically everything about Aquilon got better, except for the claw. Just like the other 40k Codexes it includes a code in the back of the book that unlocks these profiles in the Warhammer 40k app too giving you an easy way of accessing the content on the move. **Somebody give Forge World a camera**My first look at the Imperial Armour Compendium from Forge World.Price 40EnjoySave on Warhammer 40K here: - Elemen. We also get a nice two page spread telling the tale of the Death Korps of Krieg and the hellish world they herald from. He is still the only leviathan remaining with WS and BS 2+, but even at his new lower points cost doesnt offer much. The Night Shrouds bomb is still one use only, which is a little disappointing but thankfully gets a small points cut. 44.3M . Find company research, competitor information, contact details & financial data for STAREVER of ROUBAIX, HAUTS DE FRANCE. Grab a brew and paint/chat with us! My trusty Index: Forces of the Astra Militarum was starting to look a little dog-eared by the end of the edition! If youre familiar with the Codex: Space Marines relic contemptor datasheet youre already familiar with this one the only difference is new weapon options. In this book you. Acastus Knightsdrop to the point where you could squeeze one into a list a bit more reasonably, and gain some boosts to their guns in the form of Blast, but still really struggle to compete with Castellans. This 224-page hardback book provides you with all the datasheets and supporting rules you need to unleash the fury of your most powerful units in Warhammer 40,000. In an edition that prioritizes having bodies to take objectives and keep your opponent off theirs, spending several hundred points on a single tank thats going to have trouble moving around is already a tough sell, and adding a big additional CP cost is a tough pill to swallow. Similar to named characters in any other book, Forgeworld has mandated a specific warlord trait for them, unfortunately that trait is Inspiring Leader from the core rulebook, so youll never actually want to make one of these characters your warlord. All of the Forge World Chaos Space Marine characters, including the Chaos Hellwright, on and off his Dark Abeyant. Wings:Its Xenos time, and as the chief elf-liker/army understander, Im taking the wheel from here, starting with Craftworlds. The command squads are obviously the more desireable option, since they get an extra attack with no extra cost, and the good news is that you dont have to include a Commander to be able to take them any more each Commander just lets you take one without using a slot. An Astraeus has 2 void shields, so it has a nice little buffer before it starts taking damage. [2] It also includes : One Regimental Doctrine for the Death Korps of Krieg, designed to work with Codex: Astra Militarum [2] We were very lucky to receive a copy of Imperial Armour Compendium a little early from Games Workshop to review and share the content with you all! The Regimental Doctrine for Krieg was shown off on Warcom and is kind ofeh not really lighting up the world. Definitely usable. If youd asked us to pick units that were at real risk of just getting nuked from orbit in a re-write this would have been high on the list, so it getting to keep doing its thing, only even better, is a huge relief for nid players. Losing the grav rule hurts, especially against potential reserve charges. Most notably, the damage of both modes of the flamer has gone down to one, and the other gun has lost AP and the ability to deal MWs to vehicles, and theres really nothing else here thats going to make up for that. They killed my DKOK, thanks a lot after buying a Gorgon. imperial armour compendium 9th edition pdf trove. Fast, durable-ish units that are OK in melee is absolutely something the guard range is badly missing for 9th, so it does feel like a Krieg Vanguard or Outrider to use some of these is a genuinely plausible option. So this makes the bombs way better against an MSU style list that huddles up as it moves around (see MARINES), but makes them much worse vs hordes. Finally the Tyranids have units with some updates such as the awesome looking Dimachaeron which not only has more wounds and a base 5+ inv save, but can also gain a 5+ wound shrug too if it kills something with its Spine Maw! Both Hierodule builds getmassive discounts too (and sit in the Heavy Support slot), and the Scythed option ends up in a pretty similar spot to the Dimachaeron, though Id probably give that monstrosity the not because of its invuln and mobility tricks (though to be fair if you have a slot free to put Dermic Symbiosis on the Hierodule its probably better). [ [2] Description This compendium includes 222 datasheets, including super-heavy units and highly specialised troops. Moving over to cool giant monsters, theDimachaeron gets an astounding glow-up. We will be taking a look at some of these units in greater detail over the week once we have had a chance to crunch the numbers, but my initial reaction is positive here with some cool options for adding some fun units to bolster your Space Marine army. If youre a user of these its worth scanning through and checking for the addition of Blast on their guns Knights missed out on the first pass of FAQs due to not being in the main indexes. The Las Pulsar is a whole 20 points cheaper!?!?!?! 2+ save Venatari, wtfffffffffff. This book is absolutely stackedwith content, and up front we have to be clear we are not going to go through every single datasheet line by line, as theres far too many for us to possibly do that. Now yes, that nearly in the previous sentence is a little ominous as there are a couple of strange exceptions. Announcing The Goonhammer 2023 Global 40k Campaign. First and foremost are the Astra Militarum which also includes a new Regimental Doctrine for the Death Korps of Krieg. It gets a 4++ to compensate, but Im not sure that gets it back over the line into lists with all the cool new options to compete with. This seems a really fun way of making Titans useable in a normal game, and Im looking forward to seeing how my titans fare as soon as we are able to film battles again! The Imperium section of the book is fairly chunky and contains a shed load of new profiles and rules! On the whole, the Kytan is better as a unit, but still worse than it was in 8th edition because its a Lord of War and in 9th edition those are terrible if they cant be your Supreme Commander. While the main gun remained essentially the same, both types of sponsons got a shakeup. Though this does make it a little bit harder to read in the book, any future FAQ updates can be made in just one place, rather than risking some FW unit missing the change. Back at the launch of the 8th edition of Warhammer 40,000 we saw a series of volumes from Forge World collecting together all the rules for Forge World units in the new edition of the game. Thank You, Patrons. Weapon profiles and the stat line stayed exactly the same, its just firing half as many shots. If you disable this cookie, we will not be able to save your preferences. The other builds havent gone downas much as the HPL build, but with every build getting cheaper and a buff being applied to a unit that was already playable makes these the clearest, standout winner here. A bright point is his dreadfire claw switching from damage D6 to damage 4, but without the absurd durability he used to have, and without the choice of warlord traits, hes not bringing much to the table. The Death Guard get the Blight Drone, which is pretty cool, but nothing else. Meanwhile, the Tantalus gets ahuge price cut in exchange for trading out the weird warlord no one cared about and is also pretty strong as Covens. Its also a really well organised book making it much easier to use both during a game and while creating your list. Much the same as their imperial counterparts! (LogOut/ The new Imperial Armour book has been written with the new books in mind and so costings across the board seem to be a lot better to reflect the power of those units. All the titans are winners. The bad news is, it now degrades in much more boring fashion, losing Movement, WS, and BS (dropping to 5+), but it doesnt lose any Attacks or Strength, so at least theres that. His feel no pain drops from a 4+ down to a 5+, and his dreadfire heavy flamers lose a point of damage (though they do increase their range up to 12). The flamer shooting profile is up to 12 now, like most of the flamer archetype weapons. I absolutely do not think doing so is a good idea for your army, but its in a similar spot to a few other things now where it probably isroughly costed right for what it can do, its just that factors of the mission design still keep it non-competitive. The key difference is that theyre no longer HQs or Characters, so extremely stupid combos involving relics and warlord traits are banished to the shadow realm. Lets look at how things shake out. #warhammercommunity #warhammer #warhammer40k #oldhammer #oldhammer40k #40k #2ndedition #2ndedition40k #tyranids #tyranid #nids #paintingwarhammer #painting #paintingminiatures #miniatures #miniaturespainting #hobby #wargames #wargaming #metal #alien #hivetyrant #warmongers, Awesome fun stream working on the 90s Hive Tyrant! In the meantime, head over to the Forge World website and pick up some . Sadly, the Seraptek construct is a loser, getting toned down in power on pretty much every axis and then goingup in points.Ive got nothing here this model is awesome and deserved better. They also, while alive, provide a 5+ invulnerable save. Also the only weapon that costs points now is the Arachnus Storm Cannon (which costs the same as before effectively), so every other weapon load out is cheaper now, which is cool. Whereas before Chaos players could laugh at loyalists forced to play around unit restrictions thanks to the Relic rule, now were in the exact same boat as loyalists, in that many of the units that you might take from this book now cost you 1 CP to add to a detachment. This mighty 224 page book collects together the rules for the majority of current Forge World kits that are available to buy over on the Forge World website (It doesnt include any discontinued models so keep that in mind if you have any older kits, these will receive separate Legends support over on Warhammer Community allowing you to use these in friendly games). - Dave #WarhammerCommunity #battlereport #podcast, Massive thanks to @warhammerofficial for sending us a free review copy of Warcry Bloodhunt! TheValdor Tank Hunter is in a similar boar where it got a decent discount, but lost some oomph in exchange, and doesnt really end up as a desireable package overall. Unfortunately, both of these get hit hard by being forced to take theInspiring Leader warlord trait. As a bonus, he doesnt have Martial Legacy, so wont be costing you a CP to field. We also see some sneak peaks at what weapons may look like in a future Astra Militarum book with a Vanquisher cannon being listed as S16, AP -4, D9 with +1 to hit Vehicles and Monsters I am suddenly very glad i went with rule of cool and armed my Krieg Leman Russ with a Vanquisher cannon! This isincredibly bad;for some units itll just limit to your ability to include multiples but more than likely itll just make some units unplayably bad, since theyre likely to be overcosted before you include the CP. TheKustom Stompa gets its cost brought more in line with a standard one, which is a relief, and its Stompa lifta-droppa gets an absurd boost, going to 4d3 shots instead of 2d6, rolling 3d6 against T to wound and now doing d3+3 damage at AP-4 instead of just a single mortal. Wings: Seriously, this thing is off the charts good now, to the point where I wonder if the melta shots change is a typo this seems to out-compete most main battle tanks, never mind transports. This means that until we see an FAQ or errata saying otherwise, these units areoff-limits to Thousand Sons and Death Guard. Credit: CrabStuffedMushrooms. Hecaton Aiakos is the clear winner here. Last for this section, theTaunar almost certainly works out as a loser. Riding back into battle behind him areNobz on Warbikes, and these arent really priced to move but having the option is strictly better than now. document.getElementById( "ak_js_1" ).setAttribute( "value", ( new Date() ).getTime() ); This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. TheMagaeraandStyrixboth get a boost, with their siege claws gaining a sweep attack thats straight up better than stomping feet, being flat damage three and otherwise identical. Since Veterans have a real use case at the moment, this seems honestly fantastic. An all around good time here, and a genuinely nasty wrecking ball for Tyranid players. On top of that, they got 1pt cheaper each, and got built in deep strike, and I think the latter point combined with the fact that their new big shots are perfect Gravis killers, especially underExpert Crafters, makes these worth a look. In addition to being recommendations and not rules, theyre just kinda boring. Finally, for winners, theKill Tank looks surprisingly pushed at its new price, coming down 100pts for the bursta cannon build and a mighty 155 for the giga-shoota build. TheInquisition retain only their two Named Characters. While recently they havent needed them quite as much, there were certainly times when Hellforged Deredeos and Leviathans were big business, and Ive run a Kytan Ravager on more than one occasion. Definitely seem fine here, as you reduce the variance risk a lot. Theyre still not amazing they dropped from being toughness 9 down to toughness 8, though picked up a bit of improvement in their guns. The Dreadclaw Drop Pod and the Chaos Terrax Pattern Termite are the big winners here, both being nasty threats that help deliver Chaos Space Marines to the battlefield in interesting ways. Credits: That Gobbo. Luckily the new Imperial Armour Compendium is here to solve both those problems, and GW have been kind enough to send us a copy. No longer will you have to flick back and forth to the very back to find your factions points! The Astra Militarum were the OG beneficiaries of Forge World units, and they retain a prodigious range, though some of their options have been archived off as part of this update (mostly very similar variants on existing units). As to the profiles themselves, the Krieg have lost any units that still do not have models produced by Forge World In addition to this, with the Death Korps now acting as a supplement to the core Astra Militarum book they simply use the base guardsman profiles for their troops this is a shame as they Krieg did have the advantage of slightly better WS, however I do think this is for the better in balance, as this means that then we get a new 9th Edition Astra Militarum book we will simply be able to port over the surviving Krieg units directly into that new army with minimal issues! Out the gate as our first winner we have theHornet, because all the reasons they used to be good have pretty much stayed the same or improved. All the titans are losers (except the warhound). The Imperial Armour books have also featured a few less well known successor chapters over the years, and Imperial Armour Compendium features suggested chapter tactics to best represent the way they fight I love this and gives players a framework towards designing their chapter to best fit the lore and narrative of the army as reflected in Warhammer 40k literature! Likewise their Dreadnoughts also get the same damage reducing abilities to bring them inline! The Death Korps also get a Regimental Doctrine and datasheets for their unique Death Rider models. Also gained the -1D taken Dread ability we have seen the Marine Dreads get, got an extra base attack (reasons), and got 5 points cheaper. So if you were debating trying it before, it is certainly more tempting now (but still D3 damage, ugh). They also get the Termite added as a transport option, which also gives them an aggressive high strength close combat unit in the form of the drill itself!
